About Me

I’m Kat Sonner.  No not Sooner; it's Sonner. ;)
I recently got married to a freaking awesome guy named Joe.
I have a sweet but feisty Corgi named Sora.
I work part time as a High School Guidance counselor and part time as an on location hair stylist and makeup artist (so great to be able to do two things I love!)
In my free time I remodel different rooms in my house (haha), take my dog to the park, read other peoples blogs and hangout with friends and family.
I look forward to spending time posting about hair news, tips, tricks, ideas and happenings.
I decided to Start this blog as a place to celebrate all the most fun things about hair (and sometimes the not-so-fun things).   The best thing about being a hairstylist is the instant gratification that comes from a new color or style.

If you've already looked around at my pictures, you might be wondering ‘why the focus on weddings?’
Let me tell you my story.
After getting engaged in Sept of 2010, I began thinking a lot of what my own wedding would look like; my dress, the decorations, the music and MY HAIR!  Having been a hairstylist for the last 6 years I know hair is important. IMPORTANT!  I started brainstorming and searching for idea.  I tried style after style and never found myself satisfied.  I needed someone else, someone not caught up in all the Chaos, to tell me what was going to work!  My very best friend Shannon (who is also a hairstylist) offered to do my hair for me and I felt relieved, okay never mind, lets face it I was still stressed (ha).

Suddenly June arrived and I still had not decided on a style, as silly as it may seem, there were a few times I felt like crying about it.  2 weeks from the wedding and I thought to myself does every woman experience this?
As I was pondering and driving in the car with my then fiance, he as comforting me, assuring me it would all be fine.  That's when I said out loud,
“But, Shouldn't my Updo be as awesome as our 'I Do's?"
and BAM.  My business came alive.  I decided to make it my mission to help women  have the most beautiful hair possible on their special day with the least amount of stress.
So when everything starts getting crazy and its 9 A.M (or whenever) on one of the most important days of your life, you will be able to sit down, relax, drink some wine and know you and your hair are in good hands.
